Worst travel experience ever. Because of Tina's Travel Service, I will never use an independent travel agent again. It became very apparent that she does this as a hobby out of her home. Although I sent her forms with my name, as well as a copy of my credit card, she booked my trip under a last name she pulled from the email I've had since I was 17. When I arrived at the airport they would not allow me to check in because of the inconsistent last names. When I called Tina she advised me to purchase a new ticket at the counter under the correct name and we would "settle" up later. In order to make my flight I purchased the $650 ticket. Because of her incompetency, she cost me an additional $650 on top of the $1200 I paid her up front for the all-inclusive vacation. The worst part of it all was when I arrived to the resort Tina had emailed a letter to the hotel to give me upon check in. The letter stated that had I checked my reservations more thoroughly everything would have been avoided and ultimately I was responsible for everything. It was a horrible letter to receive at the start of my vacation, not to mention the stress I had about the extra $650 and not knowing what my return flight status was. Tina's way of "fixing" things was to get me a $199 credit on United Airlines. I thought the whole point of using a travel agent was for the peace of mind they would take care of ALL details. I'm not a travel agent, but I would think you would learn in Travel Agent School 101 that you need to ASK your customer what name the trip should be booked under rather than making an assumption based off of an email address. I STRONGLY advise you to book your trip on your own, use a larger, more well-known travel agency where agents don't make these sorts of mistakes, or book directly through the place you are traveling.
